This illustration show’s using the same diameter of stand-offs (super duty & nesting) so it appears that the glass is drilled through but it is not. The middle piece of glass has an inverted the stand-off due to the depth of the bowl.

Alternatively, this combination of glass could have used 1 1/2″ D super duty into the wall; 1″ x 1 1/2″ nesting and then a 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ (inverted).
